Over the last few days I've been playing with photoshop a lot. I've actually learned quite a bit of new techniques. I've found myself drawn to pictures with textures, so I tried a few out on some of my pics. Let me know what you think.

Craigslist....
It may be the only place on the internet I haven't fully explored. I now see the beauty of it. ITS FREE! I mean where else on can you find wedding photography and paranormal services in back to back ads! So anyway, I've thrown on a little ad on there and I'm curious to just how many hits it will get. If you came here from the craigslist ad, please have a look around the page and leave a comment(you don't need to register or anything).

July 4th Fireworks at Lake Reba
Well, I braved the crowds of the Lake Reba 4th of July Show again this year. It didn't seem quite as crowded this year as a threat of rain loomed, but it was still very crowded. I tried to pick a good spot for some photos as Angie decided to wait in line for around an hour for those tasty funnel cakes. I decided to go to the end of the pier for the shots, as quite a few other photographers did. I started setting up next to another Nikonian, who lusted after my D300 while I lusted after his 12-24mm Sigma. I also quickly realized how cool his little flashlight was as I couldn't see anything. Anyway, the fireworks came and as usual it was a good show. They still claim to be the biggest fireworks show in Kentucky next to Thunder over Louisville. You never realize how big they really are until they go off. I could have used a wider lens during the finally as I couldn't squeeze it all in. A cable release would have been nice too. Ah well. Here are a few of the ones I like best.

Nikon D700!!
Rumors have flown the last few days on photography forums as a spy with a cell phone camera showed pics of a Nikon D700 camera and brochures detailing the mythical creature. People argued back and forth if it was fake or not. Some foaming at the mouth at the thought of a more affordable full framed Nikon. But would Nikon really unleash such a beast so soon? Nikon has had quite a year already. They released the great D3 which featured a full frame sensor, 10 frames per second, and unreal low light performance with ISO speeds reaching to something like 25,000. At the same time, they released the D300 which was loaded in features and performance as well. Canon doesn't have a camera that compares with the D300. The 40D is the closest Canon came with the performance, but it didn't match the Nikon. However the 40D is a few hundred cheaper. If you just look at price alone, that leaves the aging Canon 5D. The 5D was slowly dropped in price over the years, but has commanded the still high price due to it being the only full-frame sensored camera available and its wonderful image quality. However, Canons stranglehold on the "affordable" full frame market share will end. Nikon has officially announced the D700! It is basically a D300 body and features with a D3 sensor. It also fits halfway in the price structure and should hit shelves at around $3,000.
